CLINICAL INTERESTS
Dr Stef Louey sees children from newborn to adolescence with general paediatric and respiratory problems.
Areas include:
Special interests include respiratory complications of chronic multisystem disease, and integration of adolescent and mental health issues to those with problematic breathing.
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Stef graduated from Monash University in 2011 and was awarded the Australian Medical Association prize for medicine. She completed training in General Paediatrics and Respiratory Medicine in 2022 through the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital.
Stef currently works as a Respiratory Paediatrician at Monash Children’s Hospital, General Paediatrician at Barwon Health in Indigenous health, and Teaching Fellow with University of Melbourne.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Stef has published in the areas of cystic fibrosis and clinical cases to educate the broader Paediatric Respiratory community. Stef has recently enrolled in a PhD in infant sleep through the University of Melbourne. Her PhD will collect data to look at normal physiology of sleep in the first year of life in infant sleep studies, and how this correlates with family and psychosocial factors.
