Clinical Interests
Dr Gabriel Dabscheck works at The Royal Children’s Hospital in the Neurology department, where he runs the Emergency Seizure Clinic, is the lead of the multidisciplinary Neurofibromatosis Program and runs the Neuro-Oncology Clinic, as well as performing ward service for the Neurology Department.
Background and Experience
Dr Gabriel Dabscheck is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a specialist Paediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist.
Dr Dabscheck graduated from Melbourne University with Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS, Hons). Dr Dabscheck trained in pediatrics at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. He completed his paediatric neurology training at Sydney Children’s Hospital and trained in adult neurology at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne.
Dr Dabscheck completed a clinical fellowship in epilepsy and neurophysiology at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School, in Massachusetts, USA. He also completed a clinical fellowship in neurofibromatosis 1 and neuro-oncology at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
Dr Dabscheck remains active in clinical and scientific research. Dr Dabscheck has a grant to explore the genomics of NF1 related tumours. He also works closely within the Neurofibromatosis Research Program at MCRI/RCH and with the Children’s Epilepsy Program at RCH.
