BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Dr Danielle Longmore graduated with honours from Newcastle University in 2001. She completed her General Paediatric and Paediatric Endocrine Training in Brisbane, Cairns and the UK. She became a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Physicians in General Paediatrics in 2011 and Paediatric Endocrinology in 2012. Since moving from Brisbane to Melbourne with her family in 2012, she has worked at Sunshine Hospital, Western Health and the Royal Children’s Hospital since 2013 as a Paediatric Endocrinologist. Danielle’s clinical interests include growth, adrenal and puberty issues.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Danielle’s research interests include the prevention of obesity and cardio-metabolic complications for young people, particularly those from disadvantaged populations. She is completing her PhD through the Menzies School of Health Research in the Northern Territory, with an interest in protective factors for neonatal adiposity and infant growth and has received a scholarship from the National Health Medical Research Council for this research.
Danielle is a compassionate practitioner who strives to provide the best care for each patient and family. She is particularly interested in working together with families and young people to help them understand their endocrine condition to improve patient outcomes.
Danielle has three young children in primary and pre-school. She enjoys reading, running, yoga and camping trips in the Kombi with her family.
