What is General Paediatrics?
General paediatrics is a broad field delivering comprehensive care across many acute and chronic illnesses.
General paediatricians provide expert diagnosis, treatment and care for babies, children and teenagers with conditions such as, but not limited to:
General paediatricians provide leadership and advocate for the child as they work closely with families, general practitioners, other specialists, allied health teams, and schools or child care centres.
They have the experience and knowledge to provide high quality care when the condition is complex, the causes of the problems are unclear, and/or the involvement of many groups of experts is required.
